  • LOYNING EVOLVER 73

    LOYNING EVOLVER 73

Evolver is a product of our ET program. He's a cocky and confident bugger. He is thick and expressively muscled as his pedigree would indicate. He fluidly strides atop impeccable feet and legs. Evolver is an attractive and stylish bull with a handsome head and he always catches visitors' eyes. His disposition is quiet but he keeps his head on a swivel ready for anything. The last couple of seasons we have used Evolver as a heifer bull and there has been little need of assistance. His calves are born easy with plenty of get up and go. We have three flush mate sisters to Evolver who are functionally efficient, feminine, range cows, with correct structure, beautiful udders, and strong maternal instinct. An outfit ought to have a whole herd like them. The Evolver sons have a distinct muscle pattern to them when compared to the other bulls in the pen and have done well on test. Most of the Evolver sons could be used as heifer bulls. Female calves from Evolver look like they'll make excellent range cows. They are moderate, really feminine, and remind me of his flush mates. Evolver has earned his way onto the cows for this upcoming breeding season.

  • LOYNING 1116 ENCORE 76

    LOYNING 1116 ENCORE 76

76 is a product of our ET program and is a full brother to Establishment. He is as high libido as they come. If don't want the cows bred then you better throw a cage around old 76. As an individual 76 has the look of a really solid maternal sire to me. Nothing really stands out about him but you really can't fault him too hard either. He's just a steady bull. He has sired some really steady sons in this offering. His daughters are refined, feminine, easy fleshing, top end range cow prospects. His flush mate sisters are functionally efficient and productive.

Loyning Angus bred and proudly co-owned with Boone Taylor and his Gals at the Y Bar in Bicknell, UT.

  • LOYNING 7133 RINGO 83

    LOYNING 7133 RINGO 83

83 might have been a sleeper in the really strong 7133 X JAD Ester 3750 flush. He has a similar look to his maternal brother Equinox at this stage. Long, thick, and correct. He is also the most moderate framed of the group of flush brothers that stayed here. He has excellent testicular conformation and an overall virile look about him. Expect to see much more of 83 in the future here.

Bred and owned by Loyning Angus.

  • LOYNING ESTEEM 4133

4133 came to us in-utero from our good friends Dennis and Erica Voss at Horse Butte Ranch. I had ridden a young horse for Dennis and Erica for a couple of years and my payment was our HBR Shoshone Ester 7133 donor cow, a heifer calf at her side and 4133 in her belly. Needless to say the best horse trading that we’ve ever done. As a yearling 4133 had a deferred semen test due to immaturity (he was like 9 or 10 months old) but we turned him out with our multi-sire group anyhow. When we weaned calves the next year and pulled DNA we found out that 4133 had more calves make our cut than any other sire that we were using at the time. He’s never looked back and it doesn’t look he’ll relinquish the title of head honcho anytime soon. The females that he’s sired so far are feminine, sharp fronted, wedge shaped, with excellent udders, and are attentive mothers of excellent maternal disposition. His pedigree is stacked with ideal type females and he is a refining influence as a sire of maternal charecteristics. 4133 himself is just an average bull in terms of length and thickness. He has outstanding testicles, is structurally sound, is agreeable disposition wise, and is a top of the line breeding bull. He is spot on in terms of masculinity. He stacks up the Horse Butte matriarch Shoshone Ester 3116 multiple times with appearances of Esters 3131, 3128, 3141, and 9116 in his pedigree. A very strong maternal heritage built on a closebred, prepotent foundation.

  • LOYNING 6141 ENCORE 612

612 is a product of our ET program. He is sired by Horse Butte 6141 of 3141 and out of HBR Shoshone Ester 7133. The pedigree of 612 is very pleasing, symmetrical and strongly anchored by Horse Butte matriarchs Shoshone Ester 3116 and Shoshone Ester 3128. He has no choice but to sire the maternal traits that we strive for. 612 reminds me strongly of his sire. He is a balanced made, strong topped, appropriately masculine with good feet and obviously he can get it done in the breeding pasture. What he accomplished in the breeding pasture as a yearling is outstanding. We sorted our replacement heifers before our DNA work was back and 612 ended up with more in that pen than his contemporaries did too. He has solidified his place in our breeding mob for the foreseeable future. Flush mate to our Loyning 6141 Encore 611 herd sire.

  • LOYNING 7133 RINGO 81

81 is the bull we chose second when we sold choice of the flush at our inaugural bull sale in 2019. He is conformationally very correct and stands on excellent feet. He is clean made with a very strong top and is an excellent worker in the breeding pasture. Although he only has one son in the sale he has several daughters in the replacement pen. We should see more from 81 in the future and it is our hope that he and brother 83 carry the torch for their sire in the future here. Flush sisters were very productive raising their first calves in an angular, functional, feminine package.

  • LOYNING ERECTOR 75

Erector is a product of our ET program who's also a full brother to Equinox and Loyning 6141 Encore 71 at Scott Shively's in ND. This bull took over as the dominant bull in the breeding pasture during the 2019 breeding season. He controls his territory with swift and terrible violence to any other bull who dare enter. If you don't want the neighbors bull breeding your cows this is a good bull to have around. As an individual he is strong topped, deep bodied, and is sturdy in his bone structure. He has excellent testicles and a soft disposition. His sons are sound made and soggy middled bulls. His daughters look feminine and broody. Erector's flush mate sisters are high quality, functionally efficient examples of maternal finesse.

  • LOYNING EQUINOX 7

Equinox is a product of our ET program. He is a full brother to the Erector bull here and Loyning 6141 Encore 71 at Scott Shively's in ND. Equinox as an idividual is an impressive beast. He's long, smooth, thick, and sound. His feet are good and he has big, compositionally correct testicles. His long neck and handsome head are both things I feel that are conducive to making beautiful females. Maybe his best trait of all is his quiet, confident dipsosition. He carries himself with the mystique of a herd bull. The flush sisters of Equinox are all near ideal in their type, feminine, long, and broody, with excellent udders. As a sire his male and female progeny are of equal quality, they are a chip off of the old block. Equinox calves are attractive, long, smooth, easy doing, with quiet dispositions.

  • LOYNING ESTABLISHMENT 74

    LOYNING ESTABLISHMENT 74

Establishment is a product of our ET program. He is a Horse Butte 1116 of 3116 out of our JAD Ester 3750 cow making him a flush brother to 76 and maternal brother to Equinox and Erector. Lots of Shoshone Ester 3116 in this guy which we consider a good thing. He is a bit larger framed than our other herd bulls, has excellent feet, legs, testicles and is an intelligent cow breeding machine. He added a tick of frame to his calves and they are long strided, easy moving cattle that look like they'll have the ability to cover a lot of country in a day. I'm talking miles. His sons should leave you some excellent range females.

  • LOYNING ECHOSMITH 87

Echosmith 87 is a little close bred bull we used to breed a group of heifers. He is just about equal parts Shoshone Encore, Shoshone Echo/Balboa, and Shoshone Ester 3128. He is very functionally correct and virile. He’s a cow breeding machine and would rather outbreed than outfight the competition. The 87 sons are stamped in his mold. 87 has sired some really nice heifers in our replacement pen, and I’m excited to get them into production. You will see more influence in the future from his dam, HBR Shoshone Ester 7127, and her daughters as the initial cattle from this family look like they’ll roll right in here in a positive way.

  • JAD EXTRA F3018

    JAD EXTRA F3018

JAD Erica S41 dam of JAD Extra F3018

We bought 82 (AKA Johnny X) sight unseen from Dockweiler Angus in Nebraska. Originally, he was brought here for use on the commercial cows. When he arrived, I really appreciated his quiet demeanor, length, soundness, and masculinity. Johnny X also has a beautiful dam, S41, who I had seen on a previous visit. While I loved the dam side of his pedigree, the sire side of his equation was very proven too. His sire N Bar Extra B310 A144 produced useful, long lasting females, virile sons, and his progeny were always deceptively heavy when they crossed the scale. Johnny X also descends from lines known to thrive at high altitude. The more I studied him, the more I knew I needed to use him. It was a no brainer. 82 had already been through a season of use at Dockweiler’s when we got him. He was as influential there as any yearling bull has ever been, siring a very high volume of high-quality useful heifers and bulls. As a multi-sire breeding bull, he is top notch. In the breeding pasture, he is a very methodical, moving from one hot cow to the next, never in a hurry, breed them once and move on. He has excellent constitution and holds up well throughout the breeding season. We are excited about the usefulness of his calves.

  • SINCLAIR OLD SOUL 9L16

    SINCLAIR OLD SOUL 9L16

We bought Old Soul through the 2020 Sinclair Cattle Company sale to use as a heifer bull. His mother was Logan Bakers favorite cow 4ET1 and his paternal grandmother 7V19 was my favorite cow from a previous visit. 4ET1 set the standard for foot/udder quality, fertility and production at Sinclair. She was a problem free, hardworking cow. She died at 15 the summer she was nursing Old Soul so he was a little behind most of the other bulls in that sale and went relatively unnoticed. He had/has excellent feet and I thought he was the most athletic, best structured, bull in the sale. I got him bought and hauled him home. When I unloaded him, I felt like a thief as I watched him glide around the pen with ease and intelligence. He had an all knowing, wise beyond his years way about him so we changed his name to Old Soul. His sons are moderate, strong topped, and intelligent in their demeanor. They also PAP tested really well. We are now calving the first Old Soul daughters and they look very good. They are feminine, long, with excellent udders, and a good maternal disposition. Old Soul daughters carry themselves with a graceful regality and look like they'll make ideal range cows.

  • LOYNING EATYABEETS 90

    LOYNING EATYABEETS 90

EatYaBeets is a very close bred Horse Butte Beetseed 313 son. He is extremely high libido, Shoshone "yellow" type breeding bull. He PAP tested extremely well as yearling and genomics marked him as top 1% in the breed for high elevation. We are currently calving the first set of EatYaBeets daughters. They are very feminine and refined with excellent udder quality. EatYaBeets sons would work well on plainer type cows or where improvement in udder quality is needed. They'll move the needle towards finesse.

  • WJL 75 ERECTOR 07W

07W is a close bred bull we retained from our 2021 sale group. He was part of the offering that year and at the last minute, we decided to pull him for use here. Kind of a "put your money where your mouth is" sort of a deal. His mother is Wil's 7W cow, who as far as I'm concerned, is as ideal as can be. I wouldn't change a thing about her. Although in hind sight I wouldn't have made the bad football bet with Wil that ended up being the embryo that produced her. We had a visit from a highly respected breeder of maternal performance last spring and he thought "she is the best cow in the whole damn country." 07W went out with a really competitive mob for his first season with his competition being three 4-year-old herd bulls and one 3-year-old herd bull. His first crop while not a big one is a WOW one for me. The bulls have a strong, handsome, virile look, and the heifers have the look of his mother.

Proudly bred and owned with Wil Loyning.

  • SINCLAIR EMULATION 0OV10

0OV10 or Kevin as he's known around here was brought in to inject a little more bone and substance. We thought he was the best bull offered in the 2021 Sinclair sale. Kevin is thick made, with a long stride, good feet, good nuts, good disposition, good performance, and a good maternal heritage. We thought he could bring in some more performance without too much disruption to our maternal direction. These first Kevin sons are square made and easy going. His daughters are deep bodied, yet feminine, and easy doing. The Kevin sons will be a nice way for old customers to inject some new blood.

  • LOYNING FORKIN 92

    LOYNING FORKIN 92

Forkin 92 was the bull we chose to keep from the Viking X Frances 6306 flush. He was the most moderate, cleanest patterned bull in the flush. Shoshone Frances 6306, his dam, was a model cow in her heyday. We thought 6306 would be a positive influence to bring in and stir the pot just a bit. His first daughters are now coming into production and look to be very useful. They are moderate, and look like they'll be productive.

Bred by Scott Shively and owned by Loyning Angus.

  • LOYNING ECHOSMITH 93

Echosmith 93 is a full brother to Echosmith 87. 93 is close bred, Echo, Encore, Ester 3128 and Ester 3116. He is a long geared, country covering machine.
